The design and development of photovoltaic panel cleaning robots

This research designed an efficient and intelligent photovoltaic panel cleaning robot, aiming to address the issue of reduced photovoltaic power generation efficiency due to dust accumulation. The structural design of the robot was carried out, and a two-wheel drive modular structure design was proposed. The stability and driving capacity of the mobile platform were analyzed. In addition, to address the cleaning effect in sandy and windy environments, the adhesion relationship between dust particles and the surface of photovoltaic panels was explored. A cleaning mechanism integrating blowing, sweeping, and wiping was designed. The hardware and software functions of the robot were developed, and tests on the robot's walking and cleaning effects were conducted. The results showed the robot could walk stably on photovoltaic panels with different inclinations of 25°, 30°, and 45°, and had good cleaning effects. The achievements provide references and inspirations for the development of photovoltaic panel cleaning robots.
