Performance Analysis of OTFS Systems with a 6GPCM in High-Mobility Scenarios
Orthogonal time-frequency space (OTFS) is a twodimensional modulation scheme, which provides a potential solution for reliable communications with high mobility. Most existing studies on OTFS consider simple channel models that cannot reflect the realistic channel characteristics in complex propagation environments. In this paper, OTFS modulation is combined with the sixth-generation pervasive channel model (6GPCM) to analyze the bit error rate (BER) performance in high-mobility scenarios. By flexibly modeling the multipath delay, Doppler shift, and angle of arrival, we also investigate the impacts of various parameters on the reliability of the communications. The outcomes indicate that OTFS performs consistently superior to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) concerning BER, due to its ability to utilize the Doppler shift in highmobility scenarios. This study provides a theoretical basis for OTFS system design and optimization in future sixth-generation (6 G) high-mobility communications.
