In the 20th Century, in the midst of the development of Iluminism and science, Kant defends the Enlightenment and claims that reason is the way for man to overcome his inferiority in the direction of a free life. Once a rationalist intellectual majority is reached, human society would walk to the evolution of its capabilities, generating a mature public debate and agreements willing social and epistemological improvement. In the 20th Century, along various social catastrophes made with support of technical advancement, staring at a planned and administered genocide, Adorno and Horkheimer write Dialetic of Enlightenment. Among the problems highlighted by the authors there is the “rationalist enlightenment ” as a tool for the construction of a cultural industry, a mechanism that limits the freedom and the capabilities to think. In dialogue between Kant and frankfurters philosophers, we raise the question about Enlightenment in the fine line between freedom and Imprisonment.
