Level of Satisfaction of the Community Public Sports Services in Santa Cruz, Laguna: Basis for Sports Facility Enhancement Plan
This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of public sports services in Santa Cruz, Laguna, focusing on participation rates, satisfaction levels, and the extent of implementation of community sports programs. A total of 300 respondents participated in the survey, representing various age groups, genders, and classification, usage of frequency of sports and purpose of visit. The study examined key factors such as accessibility, affordability, the quality and maintenance of sports facilities, community engagement, and the inclusivity of sports programs. Findings indicate that young adults, particularly those aged 26-35, are the primary participants in community sports services, with a notable gender disparity favoring female participation. Residents of Santa Cruz, especially the unemployed, showed the highest frequency of participation, underscoring the importance of local residency in engagement with public services. Respondents generally expressed satisfaction with the accessibility, availability, and community engagement aspects of sports services, but concerns were raised about affordability and the quality of facilities. Additionally, the study found moderate implementation of sports programs, with gaps in program diversity and support mechanisms for marginalized groups. The study highlights significant relationships between community engagement, accessibility, and the quality of sports services. It also suggests that while there are positive aspects to the existing public sports services, improvements in affordability, facility maintenance, program diversity, and community involvement are necessary for enhancing overall effectiveness and user satisfaction. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders seeking to improve sports facilities in Santa Cruz, Laguna specifically in Laguna Sports Complex particularly in Athletics, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Sepak Takraw and Swimming.
