A 300-kHz 6.6-kW High-Efficiency Bidirectional SiC CLLC Charger
For the conventional LLC bidirectional charger, its reverse maximum voltage gain is unity, so it is difficult to achieve grid connection at low battery voltages. Compared with the LLC converter, the symmetrical CLLC has a completely symmetrical voltage gain when operating in both the forward and reverse directions, so it is more suitable for bidirectional operation. By using SiC devices, the CLLC converter can operate under high-frequency and high-voltage conditions, enhancing the power density and efficiency of the charger. This paper built a two-stage bidirectional SiC CLLC charger. The AC-DC stage is an interleaved bridgeless totem pole power factor correction, and the DC-DC stage is a 300-kHz CLLC converter. By using the digital synchronous rectification (SR) technique, the peak efficiency of the CLLC converter is up to 98.35%.
