3D Gaussian Splatting and mixed-reality applications
3D Gaussian Splatting representations allow reconstructing an effective model of a natural scene. This demonstration showcases mixed-reality applications taking benefits from this approach. 3D Gaussian Splatting especially allows the design of virtual interactive applications with lighter authoring tools. This is illustrated here with an application proposing an interactive virtual visit of a commercial showroom. Furthermore, 3D media entertainment can be designed to provide new user experience with free-viewpoint video.
