Physics-informed Gaussian Process for Aviation Fuel Gear Pump Leakage Prediction
The gear pump is widely applied in aircraft fuel system due to its reliable drive performance and low cost. It is one of the most critical components in the aircraft fuel control system. Accurately predicting the performance degradation of an aviation fuel gear pump has long been a challenge. In this paper, we focus on the leakage model of the gear pump, and conduct a physics-informed Gaussian process model to predict the performance degradation of the gear pump. Firstly, the dynamics model of gear pump is established. Secondly, the leakage model of the fuel gear pump is established based on the two-body wear model. Then, the physics-informed Gaussian process model is constructed based on the leakage model of gear pump. Finally, the accuracy of the model we proposed is verified using real test data.
