Time-Delay Estimation Based on Multipath-Channel Negative Feedback Suppression
Array position estimation algorithms rely critically on accurate extraction of multipath component delays from the received signal. However, in deep-water environments, the arrival-time structure observed at array elements becomes highly complex. The intensified masking of low-energy multipath components further impedes accurate extraction of their delays, thereby posing significant challenges to array position estimation. This paper proposes a time-delay estimation method based on multipath channel negative feedback suppression. This approach iteratively suppresses dominant multipath components in the received signal to mitigate multipath interference, thereby improving the delay-estimation accuracy for low-energy paths. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm significantly mitigates the impact of multipath interference on delay estimation and achieves higher precision in time-delay estimation.
