Design of Voltage Control for Switched Reluctance Generator Using Small Signal Model
This paper proposes a simplified model using Taylor series to linearize the operation model of switched reluctance generator (SRG). An output voltage PID controller with adjustable parameter is proposed, of which the PID controller parameters are designed based on the limited characteristics of the small signal model of SRG. Taking a four-phase 8/6-pole SRG for demonstrative study, the voltage tracking capability of SRG is observed under different designed PID parameters, and the controller parameters are then selected to verify the output voltage control performance. The results show that the voltage PID controller designed using the small signal model of SRG can effectively stablize the voltage and improve the SRG system performance.
