Extra Low Frequency (ELF) Signal During 2018 Pabuk Tropical Cyclone from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Pekan Station
The Pabuk Tropical Cyclone brought disaster to this region. Initially a tropical disturbance, it was upgraded to a tropical depression before becoming a tropical storm in the South China Sea north of Sabah, Borneo. At some point during its journey in the South China Sea, it went outside the Kelantan Sea before diverting to cross the Malay Peninsula in southern Thailand. In this work, lightning in ELF region is analyzed with additional information from the Global Disaster Alert Coordination System (GDACS). 2 Extra Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic antennas are used each for North-South and East West direction. The obtained signal suggests intense lightning activity during Pabuk Tropical Cyclone and the South China Sea.
