PMSG-ESS Cooperative Power Oscillation Suppression Strategy for Renewable-Dominant Microgrids
The large-scale integration of renewable energy generation equipment such as wind turbines and photovoltaic systems has significantly weakened grid frequency regulation capability. This issue becomes particularly pronounced in renewable-dominated microgrids, where load disturbances may lead to substantial frequency instability risks, thereby compromising system security and stable operation. This paper proposes a novel PMSG-ESS cooperative power oscillation suppression strategy for multi-PMSGs parallel-operated microgrids with energy storage integration. The proposed approach leverages the spatiotemporal power regulation characteristics of ESS to directly compensate for the oscillatory power components arising from inter-unit phase angle differences following load disturbances. By ensuring that the power injection at each branch's point of common coupling (PCC) precisely matches the steady-state power difference before and after disturbances, the strategy effectively eliminates inter-unit power oscillations. Comprehensive simulation studies validate the effectiveness of the proposed control method in suppressing system-wide power oscillations and enhancing dynamic stability.
