Design of 10-kV High-Voltage Integrated Pulse Transformer for Compact Dielectric Barrier Discharges Applications
The conventional dielectric barrier discharges (DBD) equipment is large in size and heavy in weight, which is extremely unfavorable for portability. An integrated 10-kV high-voltage pulse transformer is designed to meet the requirements of compact DBD applications. In this paper, four discrete pulse transformers are designed, which are fully interleaved and partially interleaved windings to reduce losses. In practical applications, it was found that there were serious insulation problems with the interleaved windings. A completely non-interlaced winding structure was designed to meet the insulation requirements. Furthermore, in order to further reduce the volume, the four separate transformers are integrated by using the method of magnetic flux cancellation. Two magnetic integration structures were compared and analyzed, and the UI magnetic integration structure was selected to reduce the insulation requirements. A 20-kHz 10-kV 1-kW integrated transformer DBD prototype is designed. The integrated transformer achieves the 10-kV output and the temperature rise is within 15 ℃.
