Design of a Diver Vital Signs and Environmental Monitoring Wristwatch Based on Streaming Data Processing

Divers face high-risk environments during underwater operations, and timely access to their vital signs and surrounding environmental information is crucial for safety. This paper presents the design of a diver vital signs and environmental monitoring wristwatch. The wristwatch receives and displays real-time data from sensors deployed on the diver, including vital signs and environmental parameters. A two-level warning mechanism is integrated into the interface to alert divers of abnormal data. For data processing, a novel streaming data processing workflow is proposed, incorporating adaptive improvements to traditional methods such as wavelet denoising, LMS filtering, and Kalman filtering. These enhancements significantly improve the system's adaptability to non-stationary signals and suppress noise interference. Additionally, the wristwatch features a pressure-resistant encapsulation (3 MPa) and an optimized antenna compartment to ensure reliable wireless signal reception. Experimental results demonstrate that the system effectively receives and displays diver vital signs and environmental parameters within a 1-meter underwater range, provides timely warnings, and exhibits robust waterproof and pressure-resistant performance. The proposed design shows potential for underwater short-range wireless data reception and risk alerting, with future applications extendable to other diving equipment domains.
