A Novel Current Harmonic Separation and Suppression Method for Twelve-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors
The twelve-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (TPPMSM) has gained widespread application in high-performance fields, such as marine and aviation propulsion, due to its superior efficiency and torque characteristics. However, the nonlinear behavior of the twelve-phase inverter driving the motor introduces temporal harmonics. Additionally, in contrast to traditional motors, the winding imbalance in TPPMSMs becomes more pronounced, making spatial harmonics significant. Consequently, temporal and spatial harmonics interact, leading to severe current harmonic distortion. To address this challenge, this paper presents a novel method for current harmonic separation and suppression in TPPMSMs. Through motor modeling and harmonic analysis, a multi-delay separation method is developed to isolate the harmonics, which are subsequently suppressed using proportional-integral (PI) and quasi-proportional resonant (QPR) control.Simulation results demonstrate that, under a dead time of 3µs and a 50% increase in the resistance of one winding set, the proposed method achieves a 34.43% reduction in total harmonic distortion (THD), effectively mitigating current harmonics.
