Simulation analysis and optimization of signal integrity and electromagnetic radiation of high speed signal line

With the advancement of electronic devices, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and signal integrity (SI) have become critical considerations in circuit design. This study investigates SI and electromagnetic radiation issues in high-speed signal lines, aiming to enhance high-frequency circuit performance through simulation-driven optimization. A comprehensive methodology integrating theoretical analysis, simulation optimization, and experimental validation is proposed, featuring an “impedance matching-loop control-radiation suppression” co-optimization strategy.Using Ansys SIwave simulations, structural optimizations including trace width adjustment and stack-up thickness modification were implemented. The optimized configuration achieved a 22.6% reduction in average signal loop area, 13.3% decrease in overshoot voltage, and 34.2% attenuation of near-field electric field intensity at 500 MHz. Experimental validation demonstrated 42% electric field reduction at 500 MHz and 75% magnetic field suppression at 3.6 GHz, with measurement results deviating less than 10% from simulation predictions. The implemented optimizations effectively minimized high-frequency electromagnetic interference while maintaining signal quality. The close correlation between simulation and experimental results (within 10% error margin) confirms the practical feasibility of the proposed methodology. This research provides valuable insights for high-speed circuit design optimization, establishing a systematic approach that integrates electromagnetic theory with practical engineering implementations. The findings offer significant reference value for addressing SI and EMC challenges in next-generation electronic systems.
