Design and Implementation of An Extendable Transmitter Track Design for Stable Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer

This paper proposes a scalable transmitter coil design for dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) systems to mitigate output variations caused by wide coupling coefficient fluctuations in practical applications. The design builds on the SAE-recommended rectangular coil structure but introduces a novel overlapping configuration along the short sides of adjacent coils. Theoretical analysis supports the design methodology, while ANSYS Maxwell simulations confirm stable magnetic field characteristics. Experimental results demonstrate that an LCC-LCC compensated DWPT system using this design maintains output current deviations below 4.5% as the receiver moves along the transmitter track without any feedback control. This validates the ability of the proposed transmitter design to ensure stable coupling performance.
