Development of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (Oee) Trainer Using Internet of Things (Iot)
This project presents the design and implementation of an Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Trainer leveraging Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies to provide hands-on learning in industrial automation. The system uses a Raspberry Pi gateway to connect a PLC with a MySQL database, applying Node-RED for data collection and visualisation. Pushbutton controls on the PLC emulate operational states affecting availability, performance, and quality. Real-time monitoring via a local web server enables practical OEE analysis. Results demonstrate that the trainer functions effectively for both academic and industrial training, offering a cost-effective solution aligned with Industry 4.0 practices.
