Shielding Avoidance Evaluation and Visualization through Future Predictive Control Using AI/ML on 6G Simulator
The 6th generation mobile communication system (6G) has a wide range of requirements, including extreme-data rate and large capacity communications. To realize 6G, it is essential to advance technology and explore new network topologies. Therefore, we have developed the 6G system level simulator (6G simulator) to evaluate and visualize technologies for 6G. We have used the 6G simulator to evaluate the effects of introducing sub-terahertz and mid-band spectrums, and reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS). In 6G, the application of AI (artificial intelligence) to wireless communication system is being considered for optimal control according to the environment. For example, AI can be used to predict the occurrence of blockage and select base station (BS) to avoid the effects of shielding. As a use case of AI-based control, we introduced future predictive control on a 6G simulator to visualize and evaluate a 6G system with AI technology. In this paper, we use this simulator to clarify the effectiveness of using AI technology and propose one use case of an AI-based wireless communication system.
