Comparison of Efficacy of 0.25% Bupivacaine vs 0.25% Bupivacaine with 0.5 μg/kg Dexmedetomidine Administered by Ultrasound-guided Erector Spinae Plane Block for Postoperative Analgesia after Breast Malignancy Surgery

IntroductIonSurgery for breast cancer is one of the most common surgeries in females. 1 Postoperatively, 24% of the patients categorize their pain as moderate to high, and nearly half of the patients may suffer from postmastectomy pain syndrome (PMPS) due to inadequate pain relief. 2,3ompared to strategies such as IV opioids, tramadol, NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), and local infiltration analgesia, regional blocks offer advantages for postoperative pain control.Regional nerve blocks complement fundamental enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) guidelines and reduce the use of opioid medications. 4ltrasound-guided erector spinae plane block (USG ESPB) was first described by anesthesiologist Mauricio Forero in 2016.It is an interfascial plane block that
