Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Etanol Kulit Jeruk Nipis (Citrus aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle) dengan PEG 400 5% terhadap Mortalitas Larva Aedes aegypti

Aedes aegypti is a mosquito vector that carries the dengue virus that causes dengue fever (DHF), one of the endemic infectious diseases. In 2021, the number of dengue cases in Indonesia reached 73,518, then increased in 2022 to 143,266 cases. The management and prevention of dengue depend on vector control. Various negative impacts caused by the use of chemical larvicides have encouraged research advances in the development of natural larvicides to control disease-causing mosquito populations. Citrus aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle, commonly known as lime, is one of the plants that have larvicidal effects. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of Lime Peel Ethanol extract (Citrus aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle) in killing Aedes aegypti larvae. This research was an experimental study with a post-test only controlled group design. The groups used were group K (+) and K (-), and the treatment group (Lime peel extract + PEG 400 5%) with concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, and 10%. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk, Levene Test (homogeneity test), Kruskal-Wallis, and Mann-Whitney. The results showed that lime peel extract (Citrus aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle) was effective in causing the death of Aedes aegypti larvae.
