Defective K 2 Ti 8 O 17 Nanorod Supports Enable Stable High‐Current‐Density Acidic Water Electrolysis via Confinement‐Engineered IrO x (Small 36/2025)
Water Electrolysis Featuring a minimal Ir content of 10.89%, this catalyst delivers a 4.4-fold higher mass activity than commercial IrO2. It empowers proton exchange membrane water electrolysis systems (0.3 mg cm−2 Ir loading) to operate stably at 3 A cm−2 (1.79 V) for >550 hours, dynamically adapts to renewable energy fluctuations, and achieves hydrogen production at $0.88 per kg H2.
