Design and Simulation of an Embedded System-Based Alarm Circuit Using 8051 Microcontroller

In the last few years, embedded systems have become paramount in real-time monitoring and safety applications. This study presents the design and simulation of an embedded system-based alarm circuit using the 8051 microcontroller. The main objective is to detect signal interruptions and immediately trigger an audible alert through an efficient fault detection process. The circuit incorporates an optical isolator (PC817) for the integrity of signals and no external noise interference, along with a switch made of a transistor for the buzzer. The system proposed was designed and simulated using Proteus software where functional testing shows that the system has a high reliable ability to detect and respond to signal disruption. Results obtained confirm that the alarm circuit responds well to different scenarios of interruption, therefore making it fit for industrial and safety-critical environments. The study brings out the potential for developing reliable fault detection and alarm solutions based on microcontroller systems, which adds to the advancement of applications of embedded systems.
