Study and application of numerical simulation of maneuvering motion of ship in mountainous river
To investigate the impact of ship encounters on navigation safety, a mathematical model for ship encounter maneuvering was developed from the ground up in Fortran, based on a planar 2D hydrodynamic model. The effects of transverse distance, water depth, and ship speed ratio on the maneuvering motion during encounters were analyzed. Results show that, with other parameters constant, smaller initial transverse distance, shallower water depth, and lower ship speed ratio lead to more pronounced interaction effects. This indicates the model's capability to effectively simulate ship encounter maneuvering under various conditions. The study offers insights for research on navigation safety during ship encounters.
