Optimization and application of internal control method for ultra-deep carbonate support pipe completion

Abstract At present, most carbonate reservoirs adopt the depletion development mode. With the exploration and development of the Tarim Basin entering the ultra-deep layer, the completion mode of carbonate reservoirs has gradually changed from the original open hole completion to the support pipe completion. Due to the characteristics of carbonate reservoirs, such as easy leakage, easy collapse and active gas invasion, the support pipe completion has brought huge well control risks and challenges. The blind plate in the support pipe completion string assembly is used to temporarily seal the oil and gas reservoir and play the role of internal blowout prevention. The aluminum alloy blind plate in use now needs to be drilled through the blind plate in a single trip of the string for about 3-4 days, which has high construction cost and the risk of string wear and fracture. In order to solve the above problems, the large diameter PSVA drillless glass blind plate valve tool is developed, which can replace the current blind plate, not only realize the internal blowout prevention function, but also break the glass valve plate directly through the tubing pressure, through the firing pin breaking, special wire operation breaking tool after the completion of the operation, so as to realize the connection of the pipe string, without drilling and grinding the valve plate separately. Secondly, the debris particles of broken glass are small, which can be returned by washing the well to achieve the purpose of clean completion. This glass blind plate has been applied in 8 oil and gas Wells in Tarim oilfield, the operation success rate is 100%. The drill-free glass blind plate can realize the internal blowout prevention function, avoid well control risk, further reduce the construction cost, and provide an economic and reliable safety technical guarantee for the exploration and development of ultra-deep oil and gas resources.
