Precise control of float pipe retraction technology in pipe jacking construction

Abstract This article explores the innovative use of the “platform prefabrication+floating pipe+rear trench excavation” process in long-distance pipeline construction projects to address the challenges of pipe jacking and crossing construction in complex water network terrain environments. However, during a 294m long jacking operation, there were issues with damage to the anti-corrosion layer and deformation of the casing, attributed to insufficient casing passability and inadequate control accuracy during the jacking operation. To solve the above problems, this article deeply analyzes the key technology of float tube back support and proposes improvement measures: changing the pushing method from tail to end traction, updating the power source to a winch, and adding pulley groups, limit rings and other devices to achieve precise control. By using three-dimensional simulation imaging technology and combining it with the actual situation, the optimal linear center and various control parameters were determined, and the lateral and longitudinal displacement deviations were strictly controlled (≤ 2cm). The optimized float tube return operation was successfully completed in 7 hours, and the conductivity test was qualified, verifying the effectiveness of the improvement measures. This study not only proves the feasibility and efficiency of the float tube return process in water network geomorphic pipe jacking operations, but also achieves strict control of the float tube process through the construction of a precise control system, providing technical reference and practical experience for similar projects and having important promotion and application value.
