Research on Capacity and Development Technology Policies of Horizontal Wells with Volume Fracturing in Shale Oil Reservoirs

Abstract The low-yield energy generated by the fracture process of shale reservoir presents a significant challenge to the development of my country’s energy supply and unconventional reservoir transformation technology. This study designed a horizontal shaft fracture model for unconventional block according to the fundamental geological characteristics. In addition, This paper employs a numerical simulation measure to investigate the pivotal factors influencing this volume fracture of the reservoir space, and this approach is utilized to examine a fundamental geological features as well as the volume fracture of horizontal wells in shale oil reservoirs. Moreover, numerous reasons that influence the harvesting capacity of horizontal drillings were explored, with a particular focus on the underlying mechanisms. Furthermore, the technical policies for the optimal development of shale resources hidden volume fracture and efficient development were optimized. The experimental data demonstrated that the best orientation of the single-well section is perpendicular to the maximum principal stress direction (90°), which allows for the greatest fissure expansion capacity and results in a shale oil reservoir production capacity of 10.2%. The optimal fracture length for a volume fracture horizontal well is 1500 meters. The aforementioned horizontal well arrangement methods have the potential to enhance the production capacity of shale oil, with estimated values reaching 10.3% and 9.8%, respectively. Additionally, the crude oil recovery was observed to increase by 2.1%. In this investigation, the schedule of the staggered well, arranged in a row-shaped configuration, demonstrated the highest oil and gas production, and exhibited the most optimal volume fracture effect. The findings of this paper can serve as a fundamental data point for understanding the volume compression production capacity of shale oil.
