Noise Analysis of Signal Conditioning Circuit in Dipole acoustic Tools

Abstract This article aims to explore the noise issues in the signal conditioning circuit of dipole acoustic tools and their application in practical logging sites. Dipole acoustic logging technology, as an advanced geophysical detection method, uses a dipole sound source to enable the tool to measure the transverse wave time difference of soft formations that cannot be measured by conventional acoustic tools. The anisotropy information of the formation can be obtained through a four component orthogonal dipole wave train; Thus, important geological information such as elastic and inelastic parameters of rock layers, geostress parameters, porosity, permeability, etc. can be calculated, greatly enriching the application scope of acoustic logging data. However, in practical applications, the noise problem in the signal conditioning circuit of dipole acoustic tools has become one of the key factors restricting the technical performance of the tool. Firstly, this article provides an overview of the basic principles of signal conditioning circuits for dipole acoustic tools and analyzes various noise sources that may be introduced in circuit design. Subsequently, through theoretical derivation and simulation, the impact of various noises in the signal conditioning circuit on the dipole acoustic signal was analyzed, providing a theoretical basis for the formulation of noise suppression strategies. Finally, this article briefly explains the on-site application of the signal conditioning circuit of dipole acoustic tools based on practical application cases such as Tarim Oilfield. On site testing has shown that the dipole acoustic imaging logging tool, through optimized design of the signal conditioning circuit, has been applied several times in the field and achieved good results.
