Evaluation of the Pressurized Exploitation Effect of the Ancient Gas Reservoir in the J Gas Field

Abstract The Lower Paleozoic gas reservoir in J Gas Field belongs to a large-scale constant-volume gas accumulation, which is now faced with the issue of output decline. To achieve stable production maintenance and recovery improvement, pressure-amplifying exploitation practices have been carried out in this reservoir. This article is dedicated to different gas well types, combining the pre- and post-pressure-boosting production data for comprehensive evaluation, it uses indicators such as gas production, stable production capacity, production decline, pressure decline rate, contribution rate of secondary production layers, dynamic reserves and recovery degree of gas wells before and after pressure boosting to evaluate the effect of pressure-boosting exploitation on gas wells within J Gas Field’s Lower Paleozoic gas reservoir. The results show that after the gas reservoir is pressurized, the oil pressure decreases, the production increases, the stable production period lasts 2.4 years, with a 10.8% production rise recorded. The gas well productivity index ratio falls within 1.08–1.18. These results collectively indicate the successful implementation of pressure-boosting exploitation in J Gas Field’s Lower Paleozoic gas reservoir.
