Chaotic-Sequence-Initial-Condition-Index-Modulated DCSK Scheme: a Novel High-Efficiency Solution for Chaotic Communications

In this paper, we develope a chaotic-sequence-initial-condition-index-modulated differential chaos shift keying (CSICIM-DCSK) scheme. In this scheme, the chaotic-sequence-initial-condition-index (CSICI) bits are carried by the index of the initial condition of the chaotic sequences while the modulated bits are carried by positive/negative state of the chaotic signal. Moreover, we design a cross-correlation-value-based detection scheme for CSICI detection to adapt the multipath fading channels. In this detection scheme, multiple carriers can be combined for CSICI detection. Meanwhile, CSICI and modulated bit detections remain independent of each other. Simulation results show the superiority of the proposed CSICIM-DCSK scheme. Consequently, the proposed CSICIM-DCSK can be regarded as a potential scheme for high-efficient short-range wireless communications.
