Fueling Intolerance
The article explores the influence of political discourse in Russia on the activation of far-right anti-gender movements. Particular attention is paid to anti-gender narratives that defend a patriarchal vision of the family, deny gender violence, and target LGBT people. The study shows that these narratives, disseminated by political and religious figures, resonate with far-right organizations, leading to the imposition of an authoritarian-patriarchal ideology. This relationship between political discourse and far-right activism hurts the effectiveness of state policy in the field of countering extremism. The author concludes that to eradicate extremism, it is necessary to monitor and analyze extremist narratives and to identify and neutralize the agents of their dissemination. This study contributes to understanding the dynamics between political rhetoric, religious influence, and the rise of the far-right anti-gender movement in contemporary Russia.
