Reconstrução funcional das narinas após estenose total por TVT

Transmissible venereal tumor (TVT) is a round cell tumor characterized by nodules with irregular, friable surface and serosanguineous secretion. Its transmission occurs through the transplantation of neoplastic cells into injured tissues. Diagnosis is made by inspection and cytological or histopathological examination. The treatment of choice is chemotherapy, often with good results. It commonly affects the genitalia of dogs and more rarely other regions, such as the nasal plane, causing increased volume, epistaxis and dyspnea. The present work reports the case of a Pit Bull with TVT in the nasal plane and total stenosis of both nostrils after treatment. He underwent four surgical interventions with the aim of opening the nasal meatus, but without success and total stenosis. The fifth procedure, carried out with tomographic planning, was the resection of fibrous tissue and the nosectomy technique with bilateral lip advancement flap, restoring the functionality of the nasal meatus and improving the patient's quality of life. There are several techniques for correcting nasal stenosis. However, the formation of fibrosis after the procedure and the lack of tissue in the region were a challenge, requiring the application of techniques such as the tissue flap and the apposition and suture of the nasal mucosa. Adequate post-operative care is essential to avoid complications such as bleeding and stenosis. In short, the bilateral advancement flap technique is a good option for correcting nasal stenosis. When performed correctly, it is a great means to restoring nasal function.
