Design of an Intelligent Trigger-Based Automatic Fire Suppression and Alarm Localization System for Smart Meter Boxes

With the increasing urban power load, fire incidents involving electric meter boxes have become more frequent, posing serious threats to public safety. Traditional fire suppression solutions mainly rely on temperature threshold triggers, which often result in delayed responses, false alarms, and missed detections. This paper proposes an automatic fire suppression system for electric meter boxes based on multi-sensor fusion and an intelligent trigger mechanism. The system integrates temperature sensing, dual-mode fire suppression activation, audiovisual alarms, and wireless positioning into a unified framework. A simplified logical decision tree strategy is introduced to optimize response levels and strategy coordination, enhancing the system' s capability to identify and manage fires of varying severity. Experimental results demonstrate that the system offers fast response, high suppression efficiency, superior intelligence, and broad applicability - especially suitable for retrofitting and new installations in old buildings, residential communities, and industrial meter box applications.
