PlutoIoT: A Micro Frequency Hopping Multiple Access Communication System
To promote the widespread application of micro frequency hopping spread spectrum (mFHSS) modulation technology, this paper proposes a micro frequency hopping multiple access (mFHMA) communication system based on micro frequency hopping cyclic frequency shift (mFHCFS) modulation, named PlutoIoT. By leveraging the perfect cross-correlation properties of prime-sized linear micro frequency hopping (lmFH) symbols with different roots R, and by employing a customdefined secondary micro frequency hopping ($2^{\text {nd }} \mathbf{m F H}$) pattern for physical signal encryption, PlutoIoT not only supports multiple users asynchronous communication on the same frequency and at the same time but also enhances the confidentiality of communication. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of PlutoIoT. First, it presents a detailed description of the physical layer architecture of PlutoIoT, including frame structure, encoding, and modulation. Subsequently, this paper presents the ideal performance with multiple users, as well as the performance achievable by an algorithmic prototype based on the PlutoIoT physical layer specification.
