Spatially Variant Photonic Crystal Lenses for Light Direction in Imaging and Focusing Applications

Self-collimation properties of spatially variant photonic crystals are used to design a lens to collect light in the mid IR from wide incidence angles and induce a phase profile to direct or focus light. These devices show promise towards miniaturized imaging and light-guiding devices.

Abstract

Self-collimation properties of spatially variant photonic crystals are used to design a lens to collect light in the mid IR from wide incidence angles and induce a phase profile to direct or focus light. These devices show promise towards miniaturized imaging and light-guiding devices.
