Resonantly Enhanced Second Harmonic Generation in van der Waals Metasurfaces

We report designs of compact nonlinear metasurface working in near-infrared ranges made of a novel twodimensional material showing prominent second-order nonlinearity. Leveraging the resonant response, such metasurfaces demonstrate greatly enhanced second harmonic generation, offering pathways for on-chip coherent frequency generation and conversion.

Abstract

We report designs of compact nonlinear metasurface working in near-infrared ranges made of a novel twodimensional material showing prominent second-order nonlinearity. Leveraging the resonant response, such metasurfaces demonstrate greatly enhanced second harmonic generation, offering pathways for on-chip coherent frequency generation and conversion.
