Photonic Crystal Demultiplexer Compatible with Additive Manufacturing Optimized for C-Band

Demultiplexers are critical components in optical telecommunication systems. While not yet the industry standard, photonic crystal multiplexers and demultiplexers have been thoroughly studied and demonstrate advantages in terms of polarization insensitivity, short coupling lengths, and on-chip scalability. In this work, a novel all-optical three channel photonic crystal demultiplexer is designed for operation in the C-band (1.530-1.565 μm). The demultiplexer is designed such that it is compatible with fabrication by two-photon polymerization, an additive manufacturing technique. All channels demonstrate high throughput (<tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$>94 \%$</tex>) with spectral widths <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$<36 ~\text{nm}$</tex>.
