Abstract

This work presents results on a resonant periodic gain membrane external-cavity surface-emitting laser (MECSEL) emitting at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\lambda \approx 2 \mu \mathrm{m}$</tex>. The extension of MECSELs to GaSb-based material systems offers possibilities for power-scaling extended-short-wave infrared optically-pumped lasers.
