Prospects for High-Power (Peak and Average) Femtosecond Lasers Beyond 9 μm
Focusing on efficient, reliable long-wave infrared (LWIR) lasers capable of both high-peak-power and high-average-power operation, we investigate a hybrid architecture that preserves the advantages of mature solid-state systems while incorporating a compact, DPSS-pumped CO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> amplifier in the final stage.
