Beyond the Limits of Photonic Systems Leveraging Synthetic Dimensions

Slow light and computing devices are essential for optical signal processing, yet conventional designs surfer from their large footprints and susceptibility to disorder. We demonstrate topologically robust delay lines and analog computing components in synthetic spaces, overcoming these challenges with ultra-compact footprints.

Abstract

Slow light and computing devices are essential for optical signal processing, yet conventional designs surfer from their large footprints and susceptibility to disorder. We demonstrate topologically robust delay lines and analog computing components in synthetic spaces, overcoming these challenges with ultra-compact footprints.
