A General 6G Large-scale Fading Channel Model for Multiple Frequency Bands and Scenarios

Large-scale fading (LSF) channel models play a significant role in network planning and deployment of the sixth generation (6 G) wireless communication systems. This paper proposes a 6 G general large-scale fading channel model (6GLSFCM) for multiple frequency bands and scenarios. The basic loss, atmospheric attenuation loss, scintillation loss, and building penetration loss are jointly considered in this model to characterize the frequency band channels ranging from sub-6 GHz to visible light communication (VLC). It also encompasses multiple scenario channels, including unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), industrial Internet of thing (IIoT), satellite, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), etc. The proposed 6GLSFCM can be simplified to specific frequency band and scenario models based on the large-scale fading characteristics across different frequency bands and scenarios. Furthermore, the path loss and shadow fading characteristics of the 6GLSFCM are simulated and validated with channel measurement data for multiple frequency bands and scenarios.
