Fluid Antenna Enabled Mobile Edge Computing via Wireless Powered NOMA: A Delay-Minimization Approach

This paper investigates the fluid antenna (FA)-enabled mobile edge computing (MEC) system, in which the FA-equipped Internet of Things (IoT) devices are first wirelessly charged by the base station and then offload their workloads to the base station via non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) within their harvested energy. Our goal is to minimize the overall delay in completing all IoT devices’ computing workloads, which is achieved by jointly optimizing the FA positions, offloading strategies, and transmission duration. Despite the non-convexity of the formulated optimization problem, we propose an efficient algorithm to solve it. Numerical results are provided to evaluate the effectiveness and performance advantages of our proposed FA-enabled wireless powered NOMA offloading.
