EFISIENSI PENGGUNAAN DINDING GESER UNTUK MEREDUKSI EFEK TORSI PADA GEDUNG HOTEL 6 LANTAI BUMI NUSANTARA PANGANDARAN TERHADAP GEMPA DENGAN METODE RESPON SPEKTRA

Building structural design must be able to withstand seismic loads, in accordance with Indonesian earthquake resistance standards. Large interfloor displacements and torsional imbalances are common problems in multi-story buildings, which can impact the overall performance of the structure. The purpose of this study is to determine the efficiency of using shear walls according to their function and placement to reduce the torsional effects on the structure of the 6-story Bumi Nusantara Pangandaran hotel building against earthquake loads. The research method was carried out by structural modeling using computational calculations of the SAP 2000 program. Reference earthquake loading based on SNI 1726-2019 was applied to the model with several variations of shear walls according to their function and placement, namely bearing walls, frame walls, and core walls. Analysis was carried out using the response spectrum method to determine the structural period, base shear force, inter-story drift, and torsional irregularities. The results of the study indicate that proper placement of shear walls can significantly reduce inter-story drift compared to structures without shear walls. Furthermore, torsional irregularities can be minimized. Of the three variations tested, bearing walls provided the most effective results in reducing both drift and torsional effects, frame walls reduced drift but torsional reduction was not completely complete, while core walls actually produced relatively large drift and quite high torsional effects. In this case, shear wall placement significantly influenced the behavior of the structure. The application of shear walls, especially the bearing wall type, is very effective in improving the seismic performance of high-rise buildings so that they meet the requirements of applicable earthquake regulations.
