Dirac oscillator in cosmic string spacetime with a global monopole
Abstract In this paper, we investigate, via the Dirac equation, the behavior of the harmonic oscillator in cosmic string spacetime with a global monopole. We find that both the effective angular momentum and the eigenenergies are influenced by the topological defects via the global monopole and the cosmic string. By investigating a particular asymptotic condition for large angular momentum values, we find that the effective angular momentum is similar to that obtained in other contexts, such as in the study of bound states with the Aharonov–Bohm effect, as well as in the presence of topological defects via disclinations and dislocations. Finally, we graphically verify how the cosmic string and global monopole break the degeneracy in the energy eigenvalues by modifying their values. We also observe that the cosmic string and global monopole produce a deflection effect in the particle’s dynamics, causing the angular and radial probability densities to become confined in specific regions of space.
