Tumor neuroendocrino primario delhígado (TNEHP). Reporte de un caso

Hepatic neuroendocrine tumors are rare neoplasias as primary entities, with fewer than 100 cases reported in the English litera- ture and 60-150 cases reported from other sources. They represent 0.3% of carcinoid tumors, which poses a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. They originate in the neuroendocrine cells of the liver, which have characteristics of both nerve cells and endocrine cells, which release hormones into the bloodstream. They have diverse origins, with the neural crest predominating, and mainly affect the gastrointestinal system (54-85%), where the appendix and terminal ileum stand out, hence the importance of reviewing previous surgeries. The classification of these tumors is based on the rate of cell proliferation (measured by the Ki-67 index) and the degree of cell differentiation. Due to their low incidence, there are no standardized treatment protocols. The treat- ment of choice is surgery, with the type of resection determined by the size and location of the lesions. In our case, studies were performed that concluded in welldifferentiated neuroendocrine neoplasia, and the purpose is to report an unusual entity, which is usually diagnosed by exclusion, which will allow us to review its diagnostic approach and therapeutic strategies.
