AN ETIOLOGICAL STUDY FOR INJURY PATTERN IN ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT IN INDIAN POPULATION

This study that was conducted over a period of 1.5 years in Burdwan Medical College and Hospital, to correlate injury patterns described by the patients& radiological and clinical findings in ACL injury and mechanism of injury, modifiable risk factors,non-modifiable risk factors.Total 57 patients were included in this study. It was found that lower number of patients had Valgus stress, MC Murrey [22 (38.6%)] which was statistically significant (p = .01468).(z = 2.4351) and we also found that, lower number of patients had Brighton score 0 [5 (8.8%)] it was statistically significant (p < .00001).(z = 4.4203). It was concluded that the injury patterns described by the patients & radiological and clinical finding in ACL injury and mechanism of injury had no correlation.
