KNOWLEDGE SHARING USING COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE IN NATIONAL SECURITY INTELLIGENCE
Over recent decades, knowledge has emerged as a key area of interest for both professionals and academics, widely regarded as one of the most valuable intangible assets an organization can hold. Nevertheless, in today's highly unpredictable security environment, intelligence serves as a critical asset for governments and policymakers, playing a vital role in forecasting potential scenarios, assessing probable outcomes and determining effective courses of action. Among all types of organizations, intelligence agencies are perhaps the most knowledge-dependent,setting them apart due to their strict confidentiality policies and the specialized nature of the knowledge they generate or obtain. While intelligence agencies vary across nations based on their distinct objectives and operational mandates, they can generally be categorized into four main types: domestic intelligence, foreign intelligence, counterintelligence and military intelligence. Although their methodologies and tools may overlap, the knowledge these agencies possess differs significantly due to their divergent missions. Consequently, fostering the exchange of specialized knowledge developed and stored within these agencies should be treated as a top priority
