Eça de Queirós/Gazeta de Notícias/textos de imprensa: diálogo entre ficção e não ficção

Our goal is to comment on the press text “Laughter Decay”published in the News Gazette (Gazeta de Notícias), Brazilian journal of Rio de Janeiro city (insert part - Literary Supplement) in 08-02-1892. Eça de Queirós collaborated in this newspaper from 1880 to 1897 with fiction and nonfiction texts (according to the Critic Edition of Queirosian Works). With our reflections on this text, we may find marks of doctrinal-programmatic points (on Carlos Reis conception, 1999), that open paths to a deeper interpretation of the fictional work and also show the dialogue between the journalist and the fictional writer.
