Lembro, logo existo: uma leitura de Fazes-me falta, de Inês Pedrosa
This paper presents an overview of the exploration of memory games in the novel Fazes-me falta (2010), by Portuguese author Inês Pedrosa. It is assumed that, between the apparently antagonistic actions of remembering and forgetting, the characters undertake a true journey into themselves, in a dialogical process of seeking self-knowledge and defining the other's place in their lives. In this sense, the emotional bonds of the protagonist couple of the novel's need to be rebuilt and reconfigured in the face of the death of one of them. The alternating voices, sometimes of the woman, sometimes of the man, spell out these discursive attempts that bet on a complementary diversity to the process of remembering and forgetting. To follow this complex path of voices and desires, we use Bakhtin's concept of polyphony (2008), as well as the definitions of memory and forgetting by Bergson (1999), Ricoeur (2007) and Le Goff (2003).
