Implications of International Law on Attacks Against Humanitarian Missions to Gaza
The attack on humanitarian aid missions destined for Gaza raises serious concerns in the context of international law, particularly international humanitarian law and human rights law. This article analyzes the legal implications arising from attacks on aid convoys by referring to the fundamental principles of the Geneva Conventions, the Law of the Sea, and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. It further examines the legal status of humanitarian missions, the protection they are entitled to, and the potential accountability of states or non-state actors involved in the attacks. Through a normative approach and case study analysis, this article argues that such attacks may constitute serious violations of international law and could trigger legal enforcement mechanisms at both national and international levels. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening legal protections for humanitarian missions in conflict zones to ensure the continued delivery of aid to vulnerable civilian populations.
