THE EFFECT OF SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT ON CITIZENS’ QUALITY OF LIFE THROUGH THE ROLE OF CITIZENS’ PERCEPTION; THE CASE OF SAUDI ARABIA
The purpose of the current piece of research is to explore the way individuals perceive sustainable tourism development and how it impacts their quality of life.It focuses on Saudi Arabia's case, a nation that perceives a remarkable increase in tourism, where locals frequently engage with visitors. It outlines that the perceived sustainable tourism development provides a positive effect on the quality of life of the locals. It provides an effort to broaden the body of existing literature and establish a conceptual model that incorporates how sustainable tourism development affects the standard of living for locals.Following the literature review and the quantitative outcomes, a questionnaire is developed, validated, and distributed to Saudi Arabian citizens. The outcomes supported the argument that the development of sustainable tourism affects citizen perceptions and affects their quality of life. For academics, professionals, and interested parties in Saudi tourism and marketing, this finding provided useful insights. This study offers a fresh viewpoint on how residents' perceptions of the consequences of sustainable tourism determine their quality of life.
